Ph.D.
Requirements
- Already or soon hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Earth, Environment and Energy Science (including Climate, Geography, Ecology, GIS, Remote Sensing, etc.), or a closely related discipline. Excellent undergraduates can also be considered exclusively.
- Display a strong motivation to learn and demonstrate a high level of commitment. Be naturally curious and eager to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Some prior experience in research on topics related to the position is preferred
- Programming skills are required (e.g., Python)
- An applicant from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English is required to obtain English language proficiency test, for instance IELTS (overall score 6.5 or above; all sub-score not lower than 6), TOEFL (overall score 85 or above)

Postdoc
Position Responsibilities
We seek highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to perform research around ”Climate Change and Carbon Neutrality”. The specific research project could be very liberal upon the discussion with the PI. Involvement in existing projects and collaboration with PhD students are expected.
Requirements
- Already or soon hold a PhD in Earth, Environment, Energy Science (including Climate, Geography, Ecology, GIS, Remote Sensing, etc.), Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline
- Display a strong motivation to learn and demonstrate a high level of commitment. Be naturally curious and eager to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
- Strong prior experience in research on topics related to the position as well as a strong publication record
- Strong programming skills are required (e.g., Python)
- Experience with modelling is strongly preferred, e.g., Land surface model, Earth system model, Energy system model or Integrated assessment model.
- A fluent command of English
